A personal history tale
Hi,
I am speedy, this is the name I got because of the way I walk around the room if something is going on which I would like to see. Then I run real fast standing high on my legs with my tail up in the air. Well Reinier my owner got me in the summer of 1996, I was really small at that time, only 20 cm long (tail included), and I had a small home (40x40x60 cm). After only 2 months, in which he bought some books describing me and my family, he understood that at sometime I was going to be way to big for such a small house, so he started to build me a new home.
My new house was built in 2 stages; first he made a strong and solid substructure measuring 2 meters long, 50 cm deep and 70 cm high. He did that because he was planning to put his audio under my house, today the audio still is placed there but the speakers are moved to somewhere else. After that and finishing it with paint to make it all waterproof he started the construction of the upper part. He got all the materials, ordered a small swimming pool (60x40 cm) and started working. In the beginning I was curious as to what he was up to, but by this time I understood. My new home was going to be the same size as the substructure so there was plenty of room to grow for me. It took him 2 weeks to finish it and my new home was ready for me to move in.
After I took residence in my new home and checked out it surroundings for about a month Reinier came into the room carrying a large bag. Something was moving inside it, I being curious as always was wondering what was in it, well I soon found out. He got me this female to keep me company, but things didn't work out and she left me. A month later he showed me this other female he found and things where great she's still my mate today. Ha even as we speak now, 11-3-99 she's laid eggs, well I guess I'm going to be a daddy soon. She is a little careless, that's the reason her nose looks so odd, she hit the glass one day really hard and had to go to the doctor.
